Keith Houts Bill Receives Final Passage But Wait...
The Keith Houts bill, which criminalizes eluding an officer, received final passage from the House Thursday.
But there is still one more hurdle to clear before it goes to the governor's desk to be signed, according to the House sponsor state Rep. Spencer Collier, R-Irvington. The House voted to make the senate version, which has already made it through the Senate and a House committee, identical to the House version and now the Senate has to concur.
Collier said whether the bill goes to the governor all hangs on the Senate taking up the message to concur. Collier said he has spoken to state Sen. Rusty Glover, R-Semmes, who is OK with the action that the House has taken.
