Talk about getting even

After Sen. Lowell Barron said he put Republican bills last on the agenda of bills the Senate would consider on Wednesday, Sen. Charles Bishop told his colleague he was surprised to hear he was upset about delay tactics by Republicans the previous day.

Republicans stalled for most of Tuesday, keeping senators at the State House until after 10 p.m. to pass the General Fund budget.

Bishop, R-Jasper, said that the Democrats should not have stopped debate on the budget. He said that contributed to the delays for the rest of Tuesday.

"You and I don't need to talk about getting even with each other," Barron joked with him.

Barron and Bishop were in an infamous incident on the Senate floor in 2007. Bishop punched Barron in the head on the last day of the legislative session.
