Mr. so-called leader

Sen. Vivian Davis Figures, D-Mobile, slammed the majority leader of her own party on Wednesday.

She complained about Senate Majority Leader Zeb Little, D-Cullman, saying he was at the microphone in the chamber to talk about a pending amendment. He did not talk about the amendment and made a motion to carry over the bill supported by the National Rifle Association. The bill would allow people to keep legal firearms in their vehicle in business parking lots.

"I do not appreciate that Mr. so-called leader," Figures said.

Proponents of the bill said amendments would water it down.
