Boxing Commission Bill Passes

Alabama is leaving the list of five states that does not have a state boxing commission.

The House gave final passage to a bill that would establish a commission that will regulate the sport in the state.

Members agreed to suspend the rules to allow bronze medalist Deontay Wilder on to the floor of the Old House Chamber to be recognized for his part in pushing for the bill. The bill is on the way to the governor's desk. Wilder got to meet Gov. Bob Riley a few hours before the bill passed.
