Legislature passes bill requiring origin labeling for catfish

The Legislature has passed a bill that would require "food service establishments" to label catfish with the country of origin.

The House previously approved the bill, which the Senate passed 30-1 on Thursday.

Several senators said the bill was needed with the hard work of catfish farmers in west Alabama and with concerns about fish imported from other areas.
