Main names acting comptroller

Alabama Finance Director Jim Main has named Mike Hudson the acting state comptroller.
Bob Childree retired Thursday after working for the state for 35 years, 22 of those as state comptroller.
Hudson has worked for the comptroller's office for 23 years. He was the financial reporting director before he was named acting comptroller, according to a release from Main's office.
The acting comptroller, an Auburn native, has degrees from Auburn University in accounting and computer science. He currently lives in Wetumpka.
Hudson will serve as acting comptroller until a permanent comptroller is selected.
